The Country Groundworks team recently completed another garden transformation in Runcorn, Liverpool, turning an older outdoor space into a smart, modern garden with a striking new marble patio.
The existing grass and ageing patio walkway were removed to make way for a spacious black marble patio, complemented by a contrasting white marble border along the left-hand side. To finish the garden, we also installed two wooden planters at the top of the garden, adding another attractive feature to the newly landscaped space.
For homeowners looking for patio installers in Runcorn or professional landscaping services across Liverpool and the surrounding areas, this project shows how the right combination of materials can completely transform a garden.
Project Overview
The existing garden featured a combination of grass and an older patio walkway that was ready for an update. The homeowner wanted to make better use of the outdoor space while giving the garden a much cleaner and more contemporary appearance. Our plan was to remove the existing grass and walkway and replace them with a bold black marble patio. The darker paving would give the garden a distinctive new look, while a white marble border along the left-hand side would provide an attractive contrast. The homeowner also wanted two wooden to be incorporated at the top of the garden, this will help add structure and be another decorative element to the finished design.
Clearing and Preparing the Garden
Before the new patio could be installed, our Runcorn landscaping team began by clearing the existing garden. The grass was removed and the old patio walkway was taken up, giving us a clean starting point for the new design. Preparing the area properly is an essential part of any professional patio installation, helping to create the right foundations for a neat and long-lasting finished surface.
With the old garden features removed and the area prepared, we could begin creating the property’s completely new look.
Installing the Black Marble Patio
The centrepiece of this Runcorn garden transformation is the new black marble patio. Black marble creates a bold, sophisticated appearance and was an excellent choice for giving this garden a much more contemporary character. Replacing the previous mixture of grass and older paving with the new patio has also created a more defined and consistent outdoor area. The finished black marble makes an immediate visual impact and demonstrates how choosing something a little different from traditional paving can give a garden its own distinctive style.
Adding a White Marble Border
To complement the darker patio, we installed a white marble border along the left-hand side of the garden. The lighter marble creates a crisp contrast against the black paving, breaking up the darker tones while adding another level of detail to the design. The combination of black and white marble gives the finished garden a distinctive appearance and helps create a space that feels carefully planned from one end to the other.
Finishing with Two Wooden Planters
At the top of the garden, we installed two wooden planters to provide the finishing touch. The natural appearance of the timber works particularly well alongside the black and white marble, introducing a different texture and helping to soften the overall appearance of the newly landscaped space. Positioning the planters at the top of the garden also gives the area an additional focal point and helps bring the whole design together.
The Complete TRansformation
The completed project has given this garden in Runcorn an entirely new appearance. Removing the old grass and patio walkway allowed us to create a much cleaner and more distinctive outdoor space. The black marble patio provides a striking centrepiece, while the white marble border creates an eye-catching contrast. Finally, the two wooden planters add warmth and character to the top of the garden.
