Transforming an outdoor space can completely change the feel and functionality of your garden. Recently, we completed a patio and pathway renovation in Widnes, creating a level, modern, and highly practical outdoor area.
Project Overview
We were called about this paving project in Widnes in Cheshire. The existing paving had become uneven and it had become a losing battle for the owner to keep up with the weeds coming up between the flagstones and the existing stones had become discoloured which let down the look of the garden.
With our experience in installing high-quality patios, we explained to the customer that we have projects like this every week.
Work Carried Out
Our team travelled to Widnes to speak with the client and to see the existing patio and pathways in person. We left them with a quote and very soon we were helping the client choose new paving slabs for their garden. They ended up choosing a masonry/modular paving pattern which fitted the character of their home and we think was the perfect choice for this job. Once everything had been planned, the work in Widnes could begin.
Removal of Old Patio and Decking
The project began in Cheshire with the removal of an old patio and a worn decked area. Removing the decking not only cleared space but also opened up the garden, improving access to the lawn and making the area feel larger and more inviting. Clearing out the old surfaces allowed us to start fresh with a fully level, long-lasting patio installation. We then worked out what slabs we would need to place to complete the pattern and started work on the new patio install.
New Patio Install
The new patio was installed completely level, providing a smooth and safe surface for entertaining and everyday use. We used high-quality porcelain paving in a masonry-style pattern, combining different rectangular sizes to create a natural, stylish appearance that complements the garden’s layout. Porcelain paving is ideal for outdoor spaces in Widnes due to its:
- Low maintenance and durability
- Resistance to weather and wear
- Elegant, modern aesthetic
Pathway to the Washing line
In addition to the main patio, we continued the pattern by a a few slabs to create a practical pathway to the washing line. This improves accessibility and functionality for our client. The small path was designed to blend seamlessly with the patio, maintaining a consistent style while providing safe and convenient access.
Drainage System Installation
A new drainage system was installed to prevent water pooling at the side of the property and protect the paving. Proper drainage ensures the patio remains functional and attractive throughout the year, even during heavy rain.
New Gate Build
After we had laid the new patio and pathways, we built a bespoke gate for our customers as well as replacing a a small section of their fencing. This ensures that their property is now safe and secure as well as looking great.
